A repeat client required the strip out and refurbishment of an existing library, which occupied two floors of their Housing & Facilities Management building. Disruption free operation of the departments throughout the contract was essential.

Key to the delivery of the project was the identification and validation of existing services through the building, establishing those common to all floors and those essential to the operation of the live floor above. We then undertook the removal of both historical and newly redundant services, and re-ordering the retained live services to minimise clashes and facilitate future maintenance.

We completed the expansion of the existing ground floor server room as part of the refurbishment, whilst maintaining essential continued operation for our Client though-out the project.

The installation of new upgraded IT and data services was completed, along with the integration of new security and fire alarm systems into the live floor with minimal disruption to daily operation.

We also had the honour of relocating the Borough War Memorial to a new museum area on the first floor.

Despite a significant number of changes required to the existing services following the stripping out of the existing finishes, the project completed on time, allowing our Client to re-open the library to the public within their planned timescale.
